Microsoft -- Microsoft Startup Labs / FUSE Labs
I joined a team of entrepreneurs to build new product ideas inside of Microsoft in Cambridge, MA. Under the wing of Ray Ozzie I worked on many socially infused concepts. A few that made it to prime time included: Bing.com/Twitter, Docs for Facebook, Project Emporia and Social Gadgets.

As the fourth employee and Senior Director of User Experience I built a 3D social network/virtual world for teens. I was responsible as product owner for entire user experience as well as managing the art department and 3D pipeline. My focus was on user centered design using weekly user studies, personas, and driving product prioritization via the needs and activities exhibited by teens.

Preclick -- Instant Photo Messaging
As the VP of Products and Design I was responsible for designing and producing private label photo organizers to Costco, Walmart and others. Our monetization was thru value upsell of our own add-ons to the core application including a photo backup system, photo movie maker, photowiki, and instant photo messaging (not released). Instant Photo Messaging was a simple desktop app meant to make sharing photos viral, easy and fun.

Image Zone Express
As a contractor, I worked with HP to design the User Interface for a lite version of Image Zone that could be downloaded from the web. This short product lifecycle including two major usability studies included over 20 prototypes and started in November and shipped in May. Special consideration was made for the beginner user and to accomodate translation into 5 languages.

Idealab: Lifescape Solutions, Inc -- Picasa Software
As part of the Idealab team, I helped build the Lifescape company. I worked with the Picasa team as product manager for version 1.0. I conducted several usability studies on the application and the website. I was integral in helping find the name Picasa, branding and box design, creating the help system and online marketing.

RadioActive Media Partners -- Streaming Audio
I worked as product and client manager for the streaming audio products for partners like Barnes and Noble, AltaVista and CDNow. I designed and/or art directed the user interfaces for the radio tuners, internal reporting software, website, and build your own radio station product. I conducted several usability studies throughout development. I created the RadioAMP logo and identity.

Levis: Custom Clothing Technology Corp -- iKhakis
I worked as the creative manager for CCTC on the ikhakis project. Prior to working on ikhakis, I worked on a custom fit bra project. We did rapid prototyping to determine the right way to introduce the concept of mass customization to men and facilitate the shopping of pants online back when Amazon was only selling books.
